For this assignment in my Digital Technology for the School Librarian course, we were asked to create a short “Video Explainer” to teach someone how to do something in a clear and helpful way. I decided to focus on a topic that’s especially useful for parents and caregivers during the summer months: how to find “summer reading lists for elementary students” online.
In my video, I demonstrate how to perform a focused search that brings up reputable sources, like library or school websites, rather than personal blogs or unverified lists. Knowing how to quickly locate high-quality book recommendations can help families encourage reading at home while avoiding frustration or unreliable sources.
